NURSING IN THE UK

Why the demand?

For the past 4 years British public and private hospitals have been on a strategic plan to modernise and improve. New installations, new facilities, new training and an increase in staff have all been asked for – and are all being implemented.

This is a huge project and there are insufficient doctors and nurses in the UK to fulfil the needs. Because of this they are looking abroad to countries with excellent reputations for nursing training.  There are now a large number of hospitals and health centres recruiting nurses, doctors and radiographers from Spain, Portugal and Poland and there is more recruitment to follow.

The Benefits

The NHS are offering full-time permanent contracts as a Band 5 Staff Nurse with salaries ranging from £22,000 (30,000€) for a newly qualified nurse to over £50,000 (70,000€)for experienced professionals. This is for a 37.5 hour week with 27 days´ holiday plus 8 days general and public holidays. Overtime (extra hours at extra pay) are also available.

They also offer many extra benefits such as cheap transport, childcare, store discounts, and reductions in bars and restaurants.

The hospitals offer free accommodation, airport transfers and a full training and support package. Some of them even organise welcome parties with free food and drink so you can meet the other staff members!

You will be joining thousands of Spanish nurses already happy employed by the NHS and, should you decide you ultimately want to return to Spain, you have will have accrued experience and points which count in the Spanish healthcare system.

The Process

Enfermeria Reino Unido seek Spanish nurses who are seeking employment in the UK. Once we receive your CV we will call or Skype you then pass your CV on to TTM Healthcare who work directly with the NHS and may private healthcare providers as well.

They will call you by phone and give you a more medically-based interview. They will then arrange for you to attend a final interview with the hospital directors, either “face to face” in Madrid, or by Skype.

At these interviews you will get the chance to meet the hospital directors and find out all about the work and the region, and also meet the other Spanish nurses who will be working in the hospitals with you.

Our Helping Hands

We know that moving abroad to work is a big decision but we are here to help you. And you will not be alone. There are already thousands of Spanish nurses happily employed in British hospitals. Many UK cities now have thriving Spanish communities who will provide an instant support network for you. The hospitals want you to be happy and offer accommodation, full training programs and support.

Once we have your CV we will work with you to find the best job for you, in the field of nursing that you want, and the area of the UK that you choose. We will help prepare you for interview, and help you with the bureaucracy and paperwork.

We will always be available by phone and Skype and email to help you if you have any problems.

Your First Step

Just send us your CV in English!

We will then call by mobile or Skype to talk about your options.

You will normally have the chance to attend an interview within the month and the start date will be a month or two afterwards.

Don´t worry if you need help with your English before the interview, we can help.

We will support you all the way, from the moment you contact us to the time you get off your plane in England you will be able to benefit from all our help in this daunting but exciting process.

REQUIREMENTS

NURSING AND THE NMC

To work as an RGN (registered General Nurse) in the UK you need to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Unless you applied for your application pack before 18th January 2016 (and have Pack A), this means that you must have an IELTS certificate showing that you have C1 level in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.

ALREADY C1 LEVEL

If you already have a C1 level and have a CAE or CPE certificate the hospitals will accept you for interview whilst you take the IELTS certificate.

WITH PACK A OR NMC PIN

If you have your NMC Pin or applied for it with Pack A, your English level needs to be around B2 (no certificate required) in order to work in the UK or Ireland.  If you are not sure about your level, complete the IELTS level test and send us your CV. We have specialist tutors who can help you reach the level you need.

Please take our IELTS level test to get an idea of what your level is.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE NMC PIN, OR APPLIED AFTER JANUARY 18TH 2016, YOU WILL HAVE PACK B AND EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON YOUR ENGLISH LEVEL:

CURRENT LEVEL B1 OR BELOW

We will test your general level and give you advice on how to improve, along with providing you with future options.

CURRENT LEVEL B2

Join a hospital as a Health Care Assistant, receiving free IELTS training in order to pass the exam, get your NMC Pin and become a full nurse as soon as possible.

OR

Work as an RGN in Ireland for a couple of years. Ireland is a country with great wages and very friendly people. Points gained working in Ireland may count in the Spanish Healthcare System, depending on the region where you live. For more information  CLICK HERE

CURRENT LEVEL C1

Either join as an HCA, or pass your IELTS first and get accepted directly as a nurse.   We can test your level and advise you what to do, as well as preparing you for free for the IELTS.

JOB OFFERS

Please see below the list of upcoming interviews in Madrid and on Skype.  Skype interviews are convenient, but we do recommend the Madrid interviews as you will have the opportunity to meet the hospital directors and other nurses and see exactly where you will be working. This can be very helpful.

Alternatively send us your CV telling us the area you would like to work in. We will then contact all the centres in Britain to request an individual interview.
